Tell our team about your needs and we will customize the tool as part of your chosen package!
Every project team works differently. Knowing what needs to be done is only the beginning. It is equally important to understand how much individual activities cost, how consistently your team tracks its time, and whether the data you rely on is accurate and up to date.
That is why the August IC Project update focuses on giving you even greater control over these areas.
We are expanding the Finance module, introducing new ways to manage time tracking, and adding customizable notifications that help teams maintain a consistent approach to timesheets.
This month, we focused on three key areas:
✔️ connecting finances directly to tasks
✔️ greater control over time tracking
✔️ automated reminders tailored to your organization
Discover what’s new in IC Project.
💰 Finances directly on tasks – all the data in one place
Project finances are often spread across different areas of a system. That is why we are expanding the IC Project Finance module with the ability to manage financial data directly from a task.
A new Finances tab is now available within tasks, allowing you to view and manage the most important financial information related to a specific activity.
In one place, you can find:
✔️ invoices
✔️ costs
✔️ revenues
✔️ costs resulting from reported working time
✔️ a complete overview of finances assigned to the task
🔵 Add financial items directly from a task
You no longer need to switch to a separate finance module to assign a cost, revenue, or invoice to a specific activity.
You can now do it directly from the task.
Once added, the financial item is automatically assigned to the relevant task and project.
This reduces the number of additional steps and ensures that financial data is always assigned to the right place.
🔵 See how much a task really costs
Reported working time can generate a specific cost. That is why the Finances tab also displays costs resulting from time reported by users on a particular task.
This allows you to look at a task not only in terms of its deadline or status, but also in terms of its actual impact on the project’s finances.
🔵 Customize your financial view
Each financial section gives you convenient ways to work with your data.
You can:
✔️ filter information
✔️ search for specific items
✔️ manage visible columns
✔️ customize the view to match your workflow
✔️ switch to the full task view to analyze data in a larger workspace
Task-level finances are another step toward connecting the work being done with its actual cost.
🔐 Time tracking controls – decide how far back users can report time
Regular time tracking is essential when a company wants to base its decisions on accurate and up-to-date data.
In practice, however, time entries are often added several days or even weeks later. That is why IC Project now allows you to define how far back users can add and edit their time entries.
🔵 Set your own reporting limit
Administrators can leave time tracking unrestricted or set a specific period during which users can add and modify their entries.
Available limits include:
✔️ 1 day
✔️ 2 days
✔️ 3 days
✔️ 4 days
✔️ 5 days
✔️ 6 days
✔️ 7 days
✔️ 14 days
✔️ 30 days
Once the selected limit has been exceeded, users can no longer add or edit older time entries.
🔵 An example?
Let’s say your company sets the limit to 7 days.
This means an employee can report and edit their working time only within the previous week. Entries older than 7 days are locked.
The restriction does not apply to project managers, who retain the ability to work with time entries within their projects.
🔵 More regular reporting = better data
The longer it takes to report working time, the harder it becomes to accurately reconstruct how long a task actually took.
Setting a reporting limit therefore not only restricts late time entries, but also helps build a consistent reporting habit across the team.
The result?
👉 more up-to-date data
👉 fewer outstanding time entries
👉 more reliable time tracking
👉 greater control over how your team reports its work
You can find the new feature here:
Settings → Working Time → General → Working Time Reporting Lock
⏱️ Time tracking notifications – the system reminds you when it’s time
Even the best process will not work if someone simply forgets to follow it.
That is why the August update introduces new, fully customizable notifications related to working time.
Their purpose is to support regular time tracking and make the timesheet process easier to manage.
🔵 Remind users to report their time
You can set up automatic reminders for users who need to regularly report their working time.
Notifications can be sent:
✔️ daily
✔️ weekly
✔️ monthly
You can also specify the exact day of the week and time when the notification should be sent.
This means reminders can be adapted to the actual working rhythm of your organization.
🔵 Choose who receives notifications
Not every notification needs to be sent to the entire company.
You can decide who should receive them:
👉 the entire organization
👉 selected teams
👉 specific users
🔵 Choose the communication channel
Notifications can be delivered through the channel that best fits your team’s workflow:
✔️ email
✔️ in-system notification
✔️ mobile app
You can also use them as part of your timesheet workflow and remind users when they need to submit their time for further processing.
The result?
Fewer forgotten entries, fewer missing hours, and more consistent time tracking.
The system supports the process instead of requiring managers to manually keep track of every user.
Why does it matter?
The August update focuses on three elements that directly impact data quality and control over project execution:
✔️ connecting finances with specific tasks
✔️ controlling when working time can be reported
✔️ automating reminders and supporting consistent time tracking
This allows IC Project to better connect what happens in a project with how much it costs and how much time it takes to complete.
Summary
The August updates in IC Project expand two key areas of project management – finances and working time.
Task-level finances allow you to analyze costs, revenues, and invoices exactly where the work is being carried out. The time reporting lock helps maintain accurate and up-to-date data, while customizable notifications support teams in reporting their working time consistently.
All three solutions share one goal: to give organizations greater control over what is happening in their projects – without adding unnecessary work.
If you have not yet started using the new features, now is a great time to test them and see how they can improve your team’s day-to-day work 🚀
