Update 10/2026: new Wiki and MCP server – company knowledge at hand and work delegated in a conversation
How many times this month has someone on your team asked where the current procedure or client guide is? And how many times has someone clicked through several screens just to check what's overdue? In October we rolled out two changes that cut both short: a Wiki rebuilt from the ground up and an MCP server that connects IC Project to your AI assistant.
📚 The new Wiki in IC Project: a knowledge base your team will actually use
Guides, procedures, work standards, meeting notes. Over time they end up on shared drives, in emails and in private folders, and finding the right document takes longer than the work itself. That's why we rebuilt the Wiki from scratch, so it becomes the one place for your company's files, documents and procedures.
The Wiki has a new look and a flexible structure with no limit on levels. We've added full-text search, version history and a private space for every user.
What's changing in the Wiki?
- Unlimited structure. An article doesn't have to sit in a folder. You can add more articles or folders under any article, and child items appear automatically below its content. Reorder the tree by dragging and dropping.
- Full-text search. Search covers folder names, titles and article content. You don't need to remember what someone called the document. The left panel gives you quick access to Recent, Favorites, Public and Private.
- Your private Wiki. Your own articles and folders, visible only to you. A good place for notes, drafts and working versions before they're shared with the whole team.
What's inside an article?
- a block editor: type “/” to add a heading, list, quote, code, emoji or file (including from Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive)
- an emoji that makes the article stand out in the tree
- a Files panel on the right that automatically collects attachments from the content
- the author, creation date and last update date
- Version history with restore to an earlier version, and a Change stream with CSV export
Library and archive
You'll see all items in the Library – a table with Recent, Favorites, Public, Private and Archive tabs. You choose which columns are visible, and the layout is saved.
You don't have to delete outdated documents. Archive them and restore them when you need them again. Permanent deletion requires an extra confirmation, so no one can wipe out a procedure with a single click.
How do you share an article?
Knowledge is only useful when it reaches the place where work happens. You can attach an article to a project, a task or a conversation:
- in the article, click ⋯ → Sharing → Share in and choose Project, Task or Chat
- in a task comment, click the paperclip and choose Wiki
- in the Messenger, click “+” and choose Wiki
You'll find the Wiki in the main menu, under Management. Access to public folders and articles is set per item, for selected people or teams, from view-only to full permissions.
A real-life example: a new project manager joins your team. Instead of sending them five links from different drives, you share the “Onboarding” folder, and they find the rest on their own with search.
🤖 MCP server: your AI assistant now works in IC Project
Imagine that instead of clicking between projects, boards and reports, you simply type: “Show me what's overdue” or “Plan out a new project for me”. Since October 6, you can. We've launched an MCP server that lets you connect IC Project to the AI assistant you use every day.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect securely to external systems. In practice, it's a bridge between your AI chat and IC Project. Your assistant stops guessing and starts working with real data from your organization.
What does this mean in practice?
- System knowledge on demand. Ask in plain language, and the assistant checks projects, tasks, time tracking or finances on its own and gives you a ready answer.
- Actions without clicking. The assistant doesn't stop at answering. It creates, updates and organizes data in the system for you.
What can your AI assistant do in IC Project?
- projects, stages and boards: creating, editing, project structure and status changes
- tasks: adding, editing, moving and copying, checklists, comments and task dependencies
- team: assigning people to projects, boards and tasks
- time tracking: logging time, reviewing entries and team timesheets
- finances: costs, revenue, project budgets and their financial results
- calendar: adding and viewing events
Example prompts
These are just a few examples. Your daily work will suggest the best ideas:
- “Break the campaign project down into stages and tasks for the next 6 weeks”
- “Show my tasks for this week and suggest where to start”
- “Log 2 hours on the task Defining client needs”
- “How much time did the team log this week and what took up most of it?”
- “What is the project's financial result and how much of the budget is left?”
- “Add a work acceptance checklist to every task on the board”
Not sure what to ask? Just type: “What can you do in my IC Project?”.
How do you connect the MCP server to your AI chatbot?
The MCP server works with AI assistants that support the standard, including Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini and Perplexity.
- Click your avatar in the top right corner and go to Integrations → MCP.
- Open the documentation and choose the AI assistant you use.
- Follow the short instructions and confirm the connection.
What about data security? The assistant works within your account and your permissions, so it only sees and changes what you have access to in IC Project. Your organization's data stays fully under your control. Learn more about how we protect data on our data security page.
🚀 The Wiki and your AI assistant work best together
The Wiki organizes what your team knows. The MCP server lets you pull data from the system and delegate work without clicking through screens. The result is easy to measure: fewer “where is it?” questions and less manual copying of data.
Both features are already available. Take a look at the new Wiki, connect IC Project to your AI and see how much work you can simply delegate in a conversation.
